Ovarian Cancer
There are around 20,000 new cases of ovarian cancer diagnosed each year. Ovarian cancer is most frequently diagnosed between the ages of 55-64, and approximately 75% of ovarian cancer is diagnosed at advanced stages. In the United States, ovarian cancer accounts for around 3 percent of cancers in women, and is one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women.
In 2021, there were an estimated 238,484 women living with ovarian cancer in the United States, and the American Cancer Society estimates that 19,680 women will be diagnosed in 2024.
Statistics suggest that ovarian cancer is gradually becoming less common. According to the ACS, the rate of diagnosis of ovarian cancer has steadily declined over the past 20 years.
